Get Lit with Kit #20

Children’s books are often dismissed by “serious readers” yet these picture stories frequently offer sophisticated wisdoms. It’s a shame to think that they have nothing to offer. One of my favorite picture book authors is Allen Say, you can see in these interviews what a special soul he is (I strongly recommend watching all of the clips). Say’s illustrated autobiography Drawing from Memory was a great read – enjoyable, surprising, inspiring.

I’ve been recovering from a shoulder injury and look forward to the day when I will be able to include Turkish Get-Ups in my routines. This is a solid tutorial video, but obviously nothing replaces a knowledgeable personal trainer with the right credentials. I have a network of trustworthy professionals so let me know if you are looking for a personal trainer (or just wait until I come to your area).

Lastly, let’s not forget how LL Cool J has the ability to make us smile. Here’s to all the “Around the Way Girls“.

Peace and love.

  1. My reading class is reading *The* *Breadwinner*. I’m sure you’ve read it, but if not, you should definitely check it out.

    Hugs and love
