Get Lit With Kit – December 2020

Howdy ho for the holidays!

The big news…I’m working towards opening my own school. Here’s a little taste of how I encourage kids to read. The article Tests, Stress, and Mindfulness will give you a sense of my philosophy. Will you be sending your kids to learn with me?

In other big news, I finally feel good enough and strong enough to tackle the subject of my summer surgery. Having an emergency hysterectomy was not how I expected to spend my birthday, but I’m blessed that I am now well on my way to recovery. Read Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow and share with any woman who might also be suffering. She is not alone.

I listened to a fantastic book this month. The reader’s voice was perfect for this situational comedy. The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared  is on par with Candide (minus the political commentary).

If your spirits are down, the short film Canvas (on Netflix) will set you right.

And if you need a bit of motivation, Me’eyfo HaKoach is the track to listen to! Daniel Bar-El is coming hard with the rhymes in this political challenge to the establishment. Israel is back on the map. Serve it up with this wicked bodyweight workout and start the new year with KOACH!

In keeping with the theme of strength, I am posting my yearly reflection questions – lifted from the illustrious Tim Ferriss. By digging deeper, we can set our foundations to be even more sound.

1. What were your biggest achievements this year?

2. What were the biggest misperceptions you held?

3. What are the two most important things you want to remember?

4. What are the top two changes that will have the greatest impact?

5. What do you want in the upcoming year AND how will you get it (identify specific actions/steps)?

6. What is your superpower?

7. What are you most thankful for this year?

It has been a roller coaster of a year. May the future bring healing and hope.
Peace and love, Kit
