I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting over the past week. Here are some of the things that have influenced my thinking and helped me consider the type of person I want to be over the next year…
This is a link to the Tim Ferriss blogspot. I do make a concerted effort to speak wisely on a regular basis, but his post puts a new twist on it. I especially appreciate his framework for complaining because it prompts problem solving and positive criticism.
In keeping with Tim Ferriss, I found the Seneca podcast episode worthwhile. He presents an overview of stoicism and a reading of Seneca’s Letter 13: On Fear. It’s cued up to the reading so feel free to go back to the beginning of the podcast if you want to hear the background. Always good to questions our motivations and what is preventing us from creating the reality we want.
Hence, Hyperbole and a Half…In this write-up, we see how sometimes, people need an excuse to “be” a certain way. Let me know what you think. For me reading this post was a surreal and philosophical experience. (The url out here is .co.il. If it doesn’t load, you might try .com)
Check out NF’s Mansion if you want to hear some passionate hip hop.
This Haggard Hawks video is great for a laugh (and will feed you some colorful words that don’t mean what you think they mean)
