Summer is officially underway. Here are my recommendations to get it started right.
If you need some beach reading I highly recommend The Complete Stories of Truman Capote. Provocative and humorous, Capote’s short fiction is captivating and perfectly suited for reading between dips in the pool
The Power was a more substantial work and a complete mind bender, challenging our concept of male/female roles. In the style of six degrees of separation, the characters’ stories interweave and serve serious page turning entertainment. If you like dystopian genre, this is the book for you
If you’re toying with possibly changing your life, or if you’re simply interested in human behavior, I highly recommend The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. This study delves into habit formation, institutional routines, and everything connected to the choices and actions of daily life. I’m going to be taking several lessons with me into the classroom as I work to make school a safe place for my students to take risks and succeed in learning
I’ve been adding exercise tutorials to my IG feed recently. Let me know if you want to see more like this push up video.
Or if you need motivation, get massive GAINZ with this intense full body workout.
I finally got onto Netflix this month and enjoyed Always Be My Maybe, a silly romantic comedy starring Ali Wong and Randall Park. The movie made me smile and introduced me to this Illuminate track from the soundtrack.
Peace and love.
