I read a great article on Negotiation Styles. What particularly struck me was the idea of purpose – contract or relationship. Identifying the intent can help us move forward, especially if it allows us to reframe the situation and understand that taking a step back, can actually be progress.
With that in mind, I loved (and related) to Nora Ephron’s I Feel Bad about My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman. Candid and earnest, Ephron delves into the little life moments that leave an impact. I was laughing out loud throughout.
The Magician and the Spirits by Deborah Noyes was another captivating read, if you like magicians and spirits, of course. I enjoyed this slice of history recounting Houdini’s endeavors to uncover the realm of the spirits. The death of his mother, his friendship with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, his unparalleled fame combine for an interesting investigation of Spiritualism and Sensationalism.
